I feel like that i did poorly on this unit. Although i enjoyed this unit because i like modeling using blender i messed about too much and that is something that i need to work on. When completing this unit i left too much for me to do for the end. Nearing the deadline i realized that i had lots to do and not enough time to make it as good as i possibly could. I think that the work that i created was good and i think that my writing was decent as well but it could of been a lot better. I think that this unit prepared me for the future of my modeling as i learned a lot and i have improved in the practical aspect of it.
In conclusion, i think that my work was below standard but i learned a lot and this will help me in the future.

HA6 Task 5 Presentation
This is the belt model that i created.
This is the Card's model that i created.
This is the pistol model that i created.
This is the sword model that i created.
This is the Card's model that i created.
This is the pistol model that i created.
This is the sword model that i created.
HA6 Task 4 Production

This is the workflow of the creation of the sword model. I started with following the design pack for the grip of the sword. I followed the design closely to get a better final product. As i made the model i added various modifiers such as Subdivision Surface and Mirror to reduce the time take when creating the models.
This is the work flow when creating the pistol model, I used edge modeling the create this model because i think that its the easiest for me. I traced the design pack closely although some mistake were made. For the base i used the mirror modifier to make the gun look better. I also created the firing mechanism but i did not need to use the mirror modifier for that. I added the Subdivision Surface modifier to smooth out the model for the final render.

This is the workflow for the Cards model. I started with a plane and the i added the Bevel Modifier to give it a more curved corner. I also added the array modifier to mad it look like a full deck of cards. I then added the detail like the Suit of the card and number of the card, in this case it was the Ace of Diamonds. This was the most simple model to create as it was a simple plane.
This is the workflow for the belt. I used vertex modeling to create the basic outline. I used subdivisions to create a rectangle in the middle for the plate. I added a text object to put the J on the plate in the middle of the belt. For the bottom i used nurbs path to create the chain to make it look more realistic.

This is the design pack for the Cards, this too is a very simple model as it is a rectangle so i don't think that various angles were necessary.
This is the design pack for the pistol, when creating this design i neglected the fact that i would need different angles so when it came to modeling it resulted in a lot of guessing. If i were to do this is the future i would do different angles to make the modeling process go smoother.
This is the design pack for the sword, this was the first pack i made and that it the reason why it is small compared to the other packs. I learned from this, i learned that making it small would create hardships when creating the models and i did not do it with the other packs.
HA6 Task 1 Reference Research
These are my designs for my characters equipment, i think that these concepts suit the character well and i think that fit the era that the character is based in.

1. Applications of 3D
3D is used in many different industries for different effect. In the games industry 3D is used as a genre of game, from 3D platformers such as Super Mario 64 and Sonic Adventure, to 3D action games like Gotcha Force and Grand Theft Auto. Not all 3D games allow you to explore 3D environment, these games listed give the impression that you are in a massive open world that you can explore and that is the effect that they aimed to give. Although games such as Oddworld: Abe's Oddysee use the concept of 3D in a 2D game to give the effect that the game is more realistic. Using the Foreground to your advantage takes full advantage of the 3D presented in the game,
3D is not only used in the Games Industry however, another example of 3D being used is in the Films Industry, 3D CGI is used all the time to make mind blowing effects and to create characters that are near impossible to create using real props, an example of a 3D CGI film is Toy Story. Toy Story was created with only 3D graphics.
3D technology is also used in the Medical Industry, 3D CT scans are popular now as it gives a 3d image of somebodies inside that the doctors can use to examine and get ideas on how to help them.
3D Technology is also used in product design to create the product in software so they buyers have a basic idea on how the product looks before its built, this saves money and it helps as it can be edited with ease as its in software.
